The Art of Matcha
A quiet moment of Japanese hospitality, shared over
a bowl of matcha.
More Than a Bowl of Matcha
Tea in Japan is not simply about preparing and drinking matcha. It is a way of receiving another person with care.
In this experience, you will discover how the simple gestures of preparing, offering and receiving tea express consideration for another person.
A Moment of Tea
You will begin by preparing matcha on a traditional Japanese tray.
As the tea is prepared, offered and received, you will experience how attention to each movement creates a quiet exchange of consideration between host and guest.
The Meaning in the Movement
In tea, even a small gesture can carry meaning.
How a bowl is offered, received and returned reflects an awareness of the person before you. Through these movements, you begin to experience the consideration at the heart of Japanese hospitality.
What You Will Experience
You will prepare and share matcha while learning the gestures that accompany the experience. As you move through each step, attention shifts naturally from what to do to how you do it—and to the person with whom the moment is shared.

Beyond Making Matcha
Making matcha is only one part of the experience.
Tea also reveals a way of being with another person. In how a bowl is offered and received, hospitality becomes something you can see, feel and take part in.
It is a small encounter with a distinctly Japanese way of caring for others.
A Tea Experience Arranged for You
This experience is offered by request and can be enjoyed in person in Takamatsu or privately online.
For the online experience, you will prepare your own matcha utensils in advance, and I will guide you through each step from your own space.
Wherever we meet, the focus remains the same: not simply how to prepare matcha, but how the gestures of tea express attention and care for another person.
